ACTH (11-24) (acetate) is an adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) receptor antagonist. It is a fragment of adrenocorticotropic and induces cortisol release. This compound can be used for research of the central nervous system. In vitro, ACTH (11-24) (acetate) elicits cortisol secretion submaximally in freshly dispersed or cultured beef adrenal cortical cells, and in vivo, it has slight influences on circulating plasma corticosterone values and on fighting behavior.
